Ways to Propagate and Add to your Fig Tree farm

there are several ways to add new trees

These are new shoots from old tree near foudation

New shoots can come up each year when located near a protected are

You only need a few pieces of a root to get a new tree started over the winter

If you dig up a shoot with some roots attached. Plant it in a planter over the winter. place it in a medium lighted area with cooler temperatures (40-60 degrees)  it should grow over the winter and start to produce Leafs in the spring

Propagation of a new tree from a new shoot of an existing p

Creating new tree from an existing Potted tree

Often, Potted tree will produce new shoots from their roots

Simply dig around the new shoot, and create a root ball for your new shoot.  This can be difficult as the Fig trees have VERY Dence root systems.  A sharp small shovel or Garden trimers will be required
